At 15-years-old, Jessica Hall, a member of  Bishop Auckland, Barnard Castle and Hartlepool Golf Clubs, has become the youngest player ever to win the Durham County Ladies Championship.

Winning on the 19th hole, she was 5 down after 9 but fought back to snatch the title from her scratch opponent. Her dad Graham caddied for her all three days and she refused to change her clothes throughout the tournament in case it changed her luck!

The U16 England Golf squad player with a handicap of 3.3 will now look forward to representing Durham County Ladies team at county week in July. There will also be plenty of sunshine golf in Portugal as she has been granted courtesy at Vilamoura Golf Club. She regularly holidays in the Algarve with her family throughout the year, and over the Christmas and New Year period when she maintains her winter practice.

A highlight for Jessica earlier this year was being selected by England Golf as one of ten players with a handicap of 4 or less to compete in the WPGA one day event at Dunham Forest. She finished 7th overall and was the 2nd best amateur.

Jessica said: "This was a very exciting day and a great experience, playing with the professionals and meeting Alison Nicholas."
