Ladybank's Susan Jackson won the East of Scotland women's championship in a very tight finish at Falkirk Tryst Golf Club.

Susan finished with a one-under-par 70 to win by a single shot from Kate McIntosh (Broomieknowe) and Louise Macgregor (Falkirk).

Susan looked set for a runaway win when she reached the turn in five-under-par but she bogeyed the 10th, 11th and 12th, then double-bogeyed the 13th. But Jackson stopped the rot and was able to salvage a four-over-par inward half for a 70 to hold her challengers at bay.

Craigmillar Park members filled the first two places in the handicap section. Megan Linton had the lowest net round of 66 off 19, winning by one stroke from clumate Emma Morrison who had a 67 off eight. Wendy Nicholson (Broomieknowe) finished third with a 69 off four.

The team trophy competition - best three individual gross scores per team - finished in a triple tie between Fife, Midlothian and Stirling & Clackmannan. All had totals of 217. The tie-breaker was each team's best fourth score and Fife won it with a 75
