The Revive Active Fourball National Finals took place at Athenry Golf Club last weekend on the 5th and 6th of October. Tramore got off to the better start in the final against Dun Laoghaire on a lovely autumnal day in Athenry.
The Waterford side was 3 up in the top match with some excellent golf being played, including a holed bunker shot on the long par 3 twelfth for Dun Laoghaire which was duly followed by a 25ft birdie putt for Tramore. However by the 15 the match was all square and Dun Laoghaire went on the win on the 19, Eilis Strappe ad Ella Butler put the first point on the board Tramore beating Barbara Dillon and Jackie Brownlow 4&3. It was nip tuck in the remaining matches with no more than a hole or two separating the teams before Dun Laoghaire reigned champions again winning the bottom two matches while the third match called in playing the 19.
