On 20 March, her 18th birhday, Ladies European Golf Tour tournament winner Charley Hull announced she will officially represent Woburn Golf Club as a Tournament Professional.

Hot on the heels of her first Ladies European Tour win Charley Hull visited Woburn Golf Club and signed on the dotted line joining Ian Poulter as a Tournament Professional at Woburn Golf Club.

Charley claimed the Ladies European Tour title at the Lalla Meryem Cup in Morocco by beating Gwladys Nocera of France in a play-off, following a spectacular final round of 62. She will wear the Woburn Golf Club logo on her left sleeve and enter tournaments under the Woburn Golf Club banner.

Charley joined Woburn Golf Club at the age of 11 and frequently represented the Woburn ladies teams, partnering fellow member, Lauren Taylor in the scratch league matches.  Charley and Lauren were also partners when they represented Europe in the 2010 Junior Solheim Cup. Charley enjoyed a very successful career as an amateur, which included representing England in the Home Internationals and Great Britain & Ireland in the victorious 2012 Curtis Cup.

Having turned professional at the end of 2012, Charley had a fantastic first season, which included representing Europe as the youngest ever player in the Solheim Cup, defeating Paula Creamer by 5 & 4 in the singles which helped Europe to victory.  The year culminated with her winning Rookie of the Year and also finishing 6th in the LET Order of Merit.  Following her victory in Morocco, Charley is currently leading the LET Order of Merit.

Charley Hull discusses the latest signing: “I have been playing at Woburn Golf Club since I was a young girl and it is a real honour to be signed as a Tournament Professional at Woburn Golf Club. It has been a fantastic week; I won my first tournament title, turned 18 and became Woburn Golf Club’s female Tournament Professional.”

The President of Woburn Golf Club, The Duke of Bedford, said: “I am delighted that Charley will be joining Ian Poulter and representing Woburn Golf Club as a Tournament Professional.”

Ian Poulter responded by saying: “I am delighted to hear that Charley Hull has today joined me as a touring player representative of Woburn. Her performance at The Solheim Cup last year was awesome and to win on the Ladies European Golf Tour is a great start to the year. I am sure Charley will become a multiple winner on both tours over the next few years.  Welcome to the team Charley!”
