Wildernesse Golf Club has announced that it has raised £22,000 for The Scotts Project Trust, a high quality residential home for adults with learning disabilities in Tonbridge, Kent.
Wildernesse Golf Club, based in Sevenoaks, Kent, has announced that it has raised £22,000 for The Scotts Project Trust, a high quality residential home for adults with learning disabilities in Tonbridge, Kent.
The Scotts Project Trust was Wildernesse Golf Club’s chosen charity for 2014 and previous Club Captain, Rupert Horner, oversaw a wide range of fundraising activities from the Club’s Annual Sportsman’s dinner, which invites a guest speaker from the world of sport, to donations requested from players who land in the designated Captain’s bunker; all contributing towards the fantastic sum raised.
Rupert Horner, Wildernesse Club Captain between 2014 and 2015, comments: “We’re thrilled to be able to handover over £22,000 to The Scotts Project Trust. This is a project I truly believe in and one in which, when starting my Captaincy, I knew I wanted to support. I‘m looking forward to seeing how our fundraising over the last year will help the residents in Peter’s Row.”
The money will be invested in St Peter’s Row, one of the Scotts Project residential homes, to build a new outdoor terrace for the residents to enjoy during the summer months.
Kirstie Arnould, fundraiser for The Scotts Project Trust, said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to Wildernesse Golf Club and Rupert for its very generous donation to our project. The money will go a long way in helping us provide our residents with a great place to enjoy the summer months. Work is starting on our outdoor terrace and we can’t wait to start planning recreational and social events around this new facility.”
Simon Neathercoat, Wildernesse Golf Club Chairman, commented: “I would like to thank all our members and stakeholders for their fundraising efforts for such a great cause. Every year as a Club we take on a charity nominated by our Captain, with members always getting actively involved to raise money to help the many worthwhile causes within our community.”
