Aberdovey Golf Club celebrated their 125th anniversary in style after claiming victory in the North Wales Challenge Shield Association’s handicap league competition.
Aberdovey Golf Club celebrated their 125th anniversary in style after claiming victory in the North Wales Challenge Shield Association’s handicap league competition.
The ladies claimed the coveted Challenge Shield after seeing off over 50 teams from across North Wales in the annual competition.
The squad were undefeated in eight matches throughout the course of 2017, finishing six points ahead of nearest rivals Baron Hill, who were forced to settle for second after five consecutive years at the top.
The 2017 winning squad members were: Lynn Mamos (Team Captain), Rhian Cooper, Kath Furneaux, Cynthia Tipper, Jenny Tyrrell, Georgina Hatt, Val Nordan, Mary Upson, Julie McAloon, Judy Bouch (Ladies’ Club Captain), Heather Seeley and Sally Wilkinson.
