National charity Parkinson’s UK is calling on golfers to tee up and pitch in to raise vital funds this year by arranging their own Par for Parkinson’s fundraiser.

Par for Parkinson's is a fun and easy way to raise funds for Parkinson's UK and help the charity on their mission of improving care, treatment and quality of life for people suffering from Parkinson's disease.

Parkinson’s is a progressive neurological condition for which there is currently no cure, and it affects 145,000 people in the UK. The charity's ultimate mission is to one day find a cure for Parkinson's so that one day, no one will have to face the challenges of living with the disease, but for now, they make sure that no one has to do it alone.

53-year-old Nichi was diagnosed with Parkinson’s ten years ago. She said, "after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s I was in shock. I knew nothing about the condition and I thought it was for older people."

"I’ve found that playing golf has been a great way to keep active. Last year I held a golf tournament in support of Parkinson’s UK. It was a great day out and we managed to raise £6,500 for Parkinson’s UK’s research to find better treatments and a cure."

One of the best things about Par for Parkinson's is that it gives you the flexibility to organise whatever kind of fundraising event you like, from charity pro-ams to one-club challenges, gala dinners to golf-themed quiz nights.
