Rockliffe Hall's first ever ‘drive’ to encourage more women to take up golf was a huge success and raised £300 for Breast Cancer Awareness month.

The Ladies Golf Day, on Friday 21st October, was held to give ladies the opportunity to sample the game, play the course and enjoy the stunning Clubhouse surroundings.

During the special pink-themed event, in support of breast cancer awareness month, around 30 guests enjoyed a pink lemonade welcome drink followed by the golfing activity of each lady’s choice, depending on her ability, finished off with a delicious ‘Ladies Day’ traditional afternoon tea.

Katie Scott, Sales and Marketing Manager at Rockliffe Hall, says:

“We chose Wear It Pink as it was the obvious fit for our first ever Ladies Day at Rockliffe Hall. We wanted to encourage more women to try the game of golf but it was also the perfect opportunity, whilst they were all together, to raise money for a charity that helped women specifically.”

Rockliffe Hall’s PGA Professional team was on hand to give an introduction to golf and tips for improving golfers.

A raffle was also held and all money raised on the day will be donated to ‘Wear it Pink’ which each year raises around £2 million during Breast Cancer Awareness Month for the UK’s largest breast cancer charity, Breast Cancer Now. Prizes included an overnight stay at Rockliffe Hall. All guests also received a goody bag and were encouraged to wear pink.
