While Europe and USA were playing at Gleneagles, 30 ladies from Portal Golf Club and Hill Valley teed off in their inaugural MacDonald Solheim Cup event.
While Europe and USA were playing at Gleneagles, 30 ladies from Portal Golf Club and Hill Valley teed off in their inaugural MacDonald Solheim Cup event.
The event was instigated by Patti Vincent with support from Judy Yankey and Emma Goddard, Operations Manager & Pro from MacDonald Management with goody bags donated from Rohnisch.
Portal ladies represented Europe and Hill Valley the USA, in co-ordinating colours as they played their singles, foursomes and betterball matches. Everyone wanted to win the beautiful trophy donated and presented by Emma Goddard.
A nail-biting wait for the last match to finish added to the excitement and the result ended in a very friendly draw of 41/2 - 41/2, meaning that the coveted trophy will stay at Portal for the next 2 years.
After a huge success, the group plans to continue the event every two years, the next one being held at Hill Valley.
