Caroline and James Dempsey will be making captaincy a family affair at Ashford Manor in April, when the husband and wife pair are ushered in as the club’s new ladies’ and men’s captains.
The duo, who had not intended to hold the post during the same period, will drive-in two weeks apart from each other at the Middlesex club, which celebrates its 120th anniversary next year.
Both long-term members at Ashford Manor, it was Caroline, who comes from a golf mad family in Northern Ireland, who first introduced her husband to the sport, although with James having previous captaincy experience at his former club, it may be a case of him showing her the ropes this time around.
Founded in 1898 and located between Sunbury on Thames and Staines upon Thames, Ashford Manor is one of the finest courses in Middlesex. For more information visit: www.amgc.co.uk
