Have you ever played a Las Vagas Texas Scramble? Why not give it a try at Forrester Park in their ladies Fun Charity Day in aid of Amy’s Gift to St. Lucia.
It appears that the profile of most Ladies Sections is changing. There is an increasing number of ladies who only want to play nine holes. They play for social reasons and have generally stopped travelling to Open events.
We believe that a Fun Charity Day can encompass these ladies plus those who have stopped golfing altogether and would simply enjoy lunch and activities shared with like- minded people. The day will also appeal to ladies who want a laugh and the chance to play their own ball over an extra nine holes. There is something for everybody and the chance to make a real difference by participating in the day as £5 of the entry goes to the charity.
Everybody will play the first nine holes as a team of four playing a Las Vegas Texas Scramble. The roll of a dice determines which drive is taken. Mulligans can be purchased in advance so you can get you out of trouble at a cost of £2 each.
Our nine hole ladies will return to the Club House for lunch, and after will participate in judging a BAKE OFF by tasting the cakes. The 18 hole ladies play an individual Stableford and have a late lunch.
Everybody gets together for prize-giving and an auction of items donated by local businesses and some blind auction items.
The day is in aid of Amy’s Gift to St. Lucia which is part funded by the Amy Winehouse Foundation. The project brings music therapy to over one hundred children with developmental disabilities and to boys who are wards of court, many of whom are in need of care and protection.
