Eaglescliffe Golf Club are celebrating victory in the Anderson Daytime League Division 3 with a team which included two mother and daughter pairings.
Eaglescliffe Golf Club, in Stockton-on-Tees, are celebrating after scoring a unique victory.
Not only did their Ladies Section win Durham County Ladies Golf Association's Anderson Daytime League Division 3 this year but they also did so with a team that contained two mother and daughter combinations.
Sue Stokes and her daughter, Emma Wilson, along with Lesley Still and her daughter, Kate Barkley, all represented Eaglescliffe Ladies in their victorious season.
Sue is Lady Caption at the club this year and is truly keeping this tradition within the family as both her mother and aunt were previous Lady Captains, in 1976 and 1980 respectively, while Lesley held the Lady Captaincy in 1991. Sue’s aunt also holds an impressive record of attending 50 consecutive Lady Captain’s Days at the club.
A delighted Sue said “Lesley and I are two very proud mothers. It’s great that both Emma and Kate share our love of the game. It gives us all a fantastic amount of pleasure to play together and being part of the a winning team makes it even better still.”
