Fight For Sight

The Fight for Sight golf day looks set to raise thousands of pounds to help people with vision problems to regain their independence with a fun-filled event both on & off the course.

Debbie White has never let her sight interfere with her perspective. So, after both herself and her brother were diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder, called Usher syndrome II, at the age of just 21, she was determined that the condition would not prevent her from living a normal life. But when the progressive loss of her vision due to retinitis pigmentosa, a degenerative eye condition which causes tunnel vision and night blindness, began to prevent her from playing her beloved sport, golf, her life became anything but ordinary.

Adamant that others should not have to go through the same struggles that she had, Debbie began to organise a hugely successful fundraiser at her home club, Stoneleigh Deer Park, Warwickshire, which now in its 24th year has helped Debbie raise a phenomenal £320,000 for eyesight charity, Fight For Sight.

Not prepared to settle there, Debbie is also in the process of organising her second charity Skydive this May, which looks set to raise thousands more for the cause.

Despite making the heart-breaking decision ten years ago to put down her clubs, Debbie will again take to the fairways on the 4th July in support of the charity, which conducts pioneering research in the battle against Retinitis pigmentosa and other life-affecting eye conditions.

The American themed golf day looks set to raise thousands of pounds to help people with vision problems regain their independence and again promises to be a fun-filled event both on and off the course.

If you would like to join Debbie on what looks set to be another fantastic event at Stoneleigh Deer Park, there are still some team spots available.

Entry is £280 per team and includes Bacon roll on arrival, 18 holes and a 3-course dinner.
