A Bunch Of Wallies At Batchworth Park Golf Club

Batchworth Park Golf Club’s Lady Captain, Ed Partridge, introduced the theme ‘Where’s Wally?’ for her Captain’s day and lady members certainly entered into the spirit of the event by dressing for the occasion!

The format for the day was a team event with all scores counting and it was Pauline Harding, Violeta Laraya and Catherine Hamilton-Plant that topped the leaderboard at the club in Rickmansworth, Herts with 140 points. It was an extremely fun and thanks to the generosity of the ladies’ section, £650 was raised for the Paul Strickland Scanner Centre, an independent medical charity working to improve the lives of people affected by cancer and other serious conditions.

Wally

There were Wally challenges on each hole to aid scores, and for Ed Partridge, the par-4 5th and par-3 12th were her favourite. On hole 4, players could double their score if they only used woods and a putter, and on hole 12, players gained an extra point if their ball landed within Wally's goose circle. A note accompanied hole 12 - geese may not be moved - after all, they never move!
