National Award Winning - 3 Hammers Golf Academy in Wolverhampton is embracing online communications to keep busy during this testing time and making sure that all areas of golf practice is covered by showcasing lots of FREE and fun, engaging and educational content on social media.

"Isolation and lockdown has been difficult for everyone so keeping in contact with our clients, keeping them active and thinking about their golf game has been of high importance to us at the Academy," commented Rob Bluck, 3 Hammers Golf Academy Director.

All 8 Professionals have been incredibly active at this time with Rob and his team publishing live and recorded video content across all their social platforms. Rob himself has been recording short game tips and practice drills from his own garden, John Cheetham (Ladies Love Golf Director) has also been recording tips as well as Facebook Live events to a large audience of the ladies golfing community.

Rory Haigh (Physical Performance Coach) has also been keeping everyone active and in shape with his ‘Get Fit for Golf’ sessions. Steve Thomas (Senior Instructor & Today’s Golfer Magazine Top 50 Coach) has also been recording tips and has assisted Rob with creating the remote coaching platform, plus the latest addition to the team, Sport Performance Psychologist Lyle Kirkham has been supporting Academy clients through this difficult time dealing with a whole range of problems from stress, anxiety and is using this isolation period as a time to reflect and be better prepared for golf.

With the Covid-19 temporary closing of 3 Hammers Golf Complex, the Academy team are not able to conduct lessons in person so thinking on their feet they are now running a very successful online golf coaching platform. A two-step process of ‘Analyse and Instruct’ then ‘Do and Review,’ Rob Bluck said:

“We use a lot of state of the art technology in our coaching in the form of recording ball and club data and preparing personalised video reviews, so now we are having to slightly adapt and clients are now recording themselves at home and then sharing their videos with their chosen coach who then prepares his/her personalised video review. This has proved to be a very successful way to continue coaching and offering this service for free for current clients has been very well received.

"There is a huge number of junior golfers who the team work with on a weekly basis and they feel it is so important to keep them engaged being sent weekly fun and engaging videos in the form of ‘Golf at Home Challenges’ and Live Zoom sessions. Zoom has been a great tool to use with all the children who are then able to see their friends, as well as taking part in fun challenges at home to get them ready for when they are able to resume."

During this challenging time for everyone, 3 Hammers Golf Academy have embraced staying in contact with all of their clients, creating free content for everyone and implementing a tried and tested Remote Coaching Platform.
