Some of the UK's most well-known faces took turns to 'boom-boom' their best tee shots at the ISPS Handa Mike Tindall Annual Celebrity Golf Classic in aid of Rugby For Heroes - as product co-sponsors Lynx Golf ran a long drive competition.

The recent event - which was sponsored by ISPS Handa and fund manager Artemis - was attended by a host of stars and friends of Mike Tindall MBE including Sir Steve Redgrave, Natalie Pinkham, Peter Phillips, Zara Phillips MBE, Autumn Phillips, Zoe Hardman, Dragons Den star and entrepreneur Peter Jones, Harry Potter actors James and Oliver Phelps, Cricketer Graeme Swann and Gloucester rugby stars Huia Edmonds, Nick Wood, Trevor Woodman and ex professional players Rory Lawson and Ben Kay to mention just a few.

Staged on Celtic Manor's Ryder Cup 2010 course, Lynx displayed their new 'Swash by Lynx' putters by the practice putting green and sponsored trick shot star Dean Davis entertaining golfers with an amazing show. And on the daunting fourth tee, celebrity golfers including former Wales rugby star Martyn Williams, Peter Jones and Olympian Sir Steve Redgrave found Lynx's Boom Boom brand encouraging their longest drives of the day.

Said Lynx Golf managing partner, Stephanie Zinser: "We are delighted to be a part of what is rapidly becoming recognised as a must-attend golf event for celebrities, sportsmen and golfers. Mike helps to raise a fantastic amount of money for Rugby For Heroes through the day and the charity auction in the evening, so we were only too happy to be on board as product co-sponsor."

In the second staging of the ISPS Handa Mike Tindall Annual Celebrity Golf Classic, teams of golfers battled it out for the ‘The Tin’sTrophy’ presented by Zara Phillips MBE. Lynx entered two teams, which included the company's Steve Elford and Kevin Woolgar, as well as PGAs of Europe CEO, Ian Randell. Mike Tindall MBE is Patron of the charity Rugby For Heroes.

The charity was formed by a group of professional rugby players in order to show their support for the military in recognition of the enormous debt of gratitude owed to those who serve Queen and Country. The charity helps military service men and women as they make the sometimes difficult transition from military to civilian life. Through the sport of rugby and the network of professional rugby players and the wider rugby community, Rugby For Heroes is able to help raise funds to continue its support of military service men and women.

Mike Tindall said: “It's been an incredible second year and I’d like to thank our key sponsors and supporters who helped to make the event happen including product co-sponsor Lynx Golf.  With the support of our title sponsor ISPS Handa and event sponsor Artemis, the celebrity golf classic has again this year been able to raise funds for Rugby For Heroes."

"Most importantly, we are using the spirit of golf and sportsmanship to help raise valuable funds to support our military servicemen and women make the transition from military to civilian life and help those who are injured on the path to recovery.”
