In the men’s event, Howie from Peebles was under pressure early in the final round from Mike Howard (Edinburgh) and James Rooney (Edge Hill) but the Borderer eased away on the back nine to record an impressive victory by six strokes from Howard (78-74 for 152) with rounds of 76-70 for 146 - and lead Stirling I to the men's team title as well.
In the women’s event, for St Andrews University it was a clean sweep of the team and individual prizes as past winner Ailsa Summers (St Andrews) overcame the challenge of defending champion and team-mate Miranda Brain. Ailsa shot 84-77 for 161, finishing two ahead of Miranda (84-79)
