Monmouthshire are Wales Inter-County Champions 2018

Monmouthshire have been crowned Wales Ladies Inter-County Champions for the 5th consecutive year in the final played at Builth Wells Golf Club.

Playing against Caernarvonshire and Anglesey, Monmouthshire led the morning foursomes 2-1. They maintained that momentum in the afternoon, claiming 4 points from the afternoon singles to take the overall score to 6-3.

Mary Woollard, Monmouthshire Ladies County Golf Captain commented, “The team played phenomenally and fully deserved to retain the title. 7 or the 8 players have either represented Wales this year or have done in the recent years.”

“They are an amazing group of ladies both on and off the course and are fully deserving of recognition.”

The club's junior programme has also gone from strength to strength this year, with junior girls' making up more than half of this year's first team.
