Suzanne Corcoran has retained the Irish Senior Women's Close Championship trophy at Monkstown Golf Club this week in a final round match against Catherine Reilly.

Suzanne Corcoran from Portumna has retained the Irish Senior Women's Close Championship trophy at Monkstown Golf Club this week in a final round match against Catherine Reilly.

Suzanne Corcoran won the1st hole at Monkstown to take an early lead against Catherine Reilly from The Heath, but gained no further advantage on the outward nine and Catherine had recovered the match to all square by the turn. Corcoran however remained steely and turned the match around again and by the thirteenth was 2 up and never lost this lead to win out 3 and 2 and retain her trophy.

Jean Scanlon (Newcastle West) wins the Plate Match Play (Shirley MacDonald Trophy) overcoming Kate Evans (Royal County Down Ladies) on the back nine to win 2up.
