Reflecting on the inaugural tour

Scottish Women's Amateur Tour organiser Alan Tait commented on last year's tour:

“I got the idea last year as I felt there really wasn’t enough playing opportunities for women and girls in Scotland. So I pulled a schedule of nine x 36 hole events for 2024 and it worked great. An added bonus was the leading players took part in an end-of-season grand final at wonderful Cabot Highlands Castle Stuart which was fantastic, and I am delighted to say that Castle Stuart are back on board for September 2025.

"All the venues have been magic in their support for women's golf in Scotland. The women can’t believe they are getting to play all these wonderful Scottish courses for the entry fee prices they are paying. As well as being a competitive tour that offers amazing value, it’s turned into a real wee social community as well.

"We are all on a tour WhatsApp group where there’s a lot of good banter and the women sharing photos from each event. Lots of new friendships have been made and all that just adds to the fun of the tour. I’m really looking forward to running the tour again this year and gives me a lot of pleasure and enjoyment to be doing my bit for the game and my country, which I love both so much”.
