The 85th Portuguese International Ladies Amateur Championship is taking place at the Montado Hotel and Golf Resort from 27-30 January 2016.

World number 11 Olivia Mehaffey (RCDL) will be leading the Irish charge after her impressive top five finish at the South American Amateur Championship in Peru last week. Olivia will be joined by a large Irish contingent, including Maria Dunne (Skerries), Mary Doyle (The Heath), Paula Grant (Lisburn), Mairead Martin (Killarney), Julie McCarthy (Forrest Little), Jessica Ross (Donaghadee), Chloe Ryan (Castletroy) and Sinead Sexton (Lahinch).

Chloe finished in 15th position in last year’s Championship and will be looking to improve on this for her second start this season. Jessica Ross (Donaghadee) will join Chloe and Olivia as the Irish representatives who will be contending for the Nations Cup, which will be played simultaneously with the first 54 holes of the Championship. The Cup will be awarded to the two lowest scores of each day.

The Championship will consist of 18 holes stroke play being played over four days, with the top forty players and ties competing over a final 18 holes on Saturday to decide the champion.
