Frida Kinhult from Sweden, the fifth seed, beat Italy's Alessia Nobilio at the 19th hole to win the Spanish women's amateur at Sherry Golf, Jerez near Cadiz today.

The Swede found herself one down after 12 but immediately squared up the match at 13. With the last five holes halved it would take extra holes to decide the match in Kinhult's favour.

She had previously overcome England's Annabell Fuller, the top placed British finisher, in the second round. Fuller's compatriots Sophie Lamb, Isobel Wardle and Gemma Clews, as well as Ireland's Annabel Wilson, all made the cut after the stroke play stage but lost their first-round ties.
