Scottish teenager Shannon McWilliam finished second in the Helen Holm Scottish women's open amateur stroke play championship played at Troon.

She finished five strokes behind the winner, Sweden's Linn Grant.

With the first two rounds at Troon Portland and the final 18 holes over Royal Troon's Open championship links course, Grant shot rounds of 71, 66 and 72 for seven under par 209.

McWilliam, 17, who finished third in this tournament as a 15-year-old, had scores of 69, 70 and 75 for 214. The first two were the only players to finish the 54 holes under par. Hollie Muse, from West Lancs, finished in tied third alongside Ireland's Chloe Ryan.

Hannah McCook (Grantown on Spey) made it two Scots in the top 10 by sharing ninth place on two-over 218 with rounds of 72, 71 and 75.
