Milltown Golf Club was once again the host of the Irish Schools Final in which 10 teams from around the country contested for the Senior and Junior Cup.

This Senior Cup had previously been dominated by the Ulster district but this year saw the trophy head towards East Leinster. Pipers Hill College, Kildare (Lauren Walsh, Fiona Behan & Isobel Gorey) shot a combined 55 gross points to beat Ursuline College Sligo (Maeve Rooney, Niamh Cronin & Jenny Demmel) by 1 point. Lauren Walsh was also the winner of the Senior best gross & Mary Nowlan Cup with 32 gross point, however Beth Coulter (Our Lady & St. Patricks College, Knock) wasn’t far behind her and won the Junior gross prize with 30pts.

The Junior Cup was equally as tight as the Senior Cup with Rockport School in Down (Katie Webb & Molly O’Hara) winning by 1 point over East Leinster’s, Muckross Park College (Anna Foster & Kate Sheridan) to finish on 45 gross points for the day. There were also some very noteworthy performances from both Lauren Kelly (Scoile na Trinnoide Naofa) and Shiofra Ward-O’Meara who won the Senior and Junior best Nett with 42 and 41 points respectively.
