Ireland's Annabel Wilson, the No 3 seed, has won the Cartier Trophy match-play competition at the French Under-21 girls' open amateur championships at St Cloud Golf Club, Paris.

Ireland's Annabel Wilson, the No 3 seed, has won the Cartier Trophy match-play competition at the French Under-21 girls' open amateur championships at St Cloud Golf Club, Paris.

She beat Elsa Ettori-Douard (France) in the 36-hole final, the No 9 seed, by 3 and 2 after being four up after the first 18 holes.

Annabel squeezed through at the 21st hole in her Saturday semi-final against another French player, Elisabeth Codet.

Beaten finalist Ettori-Douard beat the No 1 seed, Annabell Fuller from England in the quarter-finals.

The Esmond Trophy 36-hole final today was won by Amanda Linner in an all-Swedish match against Beatrice Wallin. The margin was 6 and 5.
