The ILGU District Senior Cup Qualifiers took place across Ireland at the weekend with eight teams having now qualified for the All-Ireland Finals at Royal Curragh in August.

Royal Portrush overcame Royal County Down in the Ulster Final. The first result was a 7/6 win for Portrush’s experienced player Gemma McClenaghan over Danielle McVeigh. This was followed by a 2/1 win by team mate Lucy Simpson on the 17th green over International Paula Grant. Beth Coulter, playing in her first Senior Cup Tournament carded a 4/3 win over Naiomh Quigg, raising RCDL's hopes for success. However, the third match for Royal Portrush was won by Mary MacLaren - 5/4. With three wins recorded for Royal Portrush the last match between Emma Forbes and Anita McCaw was called in.
In the Munster final Killarney took on Lahinch. A hole in one on the 7th helped Valerie Clancy (Killarney) to a win over Sinead Sexton. While Mairead Martin and Kelly Brotherton added the next two points needed for the Munster title.
For the first time in their history, The Heath team of Mary Doyle, Meadhbh Doyle, Molly Dowling, Shannen Brown and Catherine Reilly claimed the Mid Leinster title at Athy. Wins for Doyle, Dowling and Brown on the 19th, 15th and 17th vs. 2016 All Ireland Champions Kilkenny were enough for the pennant to head to to Co. Laois.
The Connacht Finals were held at Castlebar, the tree-lined track suited Roscommon as they emerged as Connacht Champions when they overcame Ballinasloe by 3.5 to 1.5. Ruth Lennon, Paula Quinn and Ciara Herward Ryan claimed the winning points for the Rossie side.
Finally, it was another successful year for The Island at the East Leinster Senior Cup Finals at Skerries. A halved match between Gillian O'Leary (The Island) and Deirdre Walsh (Milltown) was followed by wins for Gertie McMullen, Clodagh Walsh and Caroline Fanning to give the North Dublin Side a 3.5 to 1.5 win and the East Leinster title for the 3rd year running.
