Ireland's Leona Maguire, who represents Duke University, earned her first win of the year when she tied for first at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge.

The Cavan native turned in rounds of 68, 71 and 70 for a four-under-par 209 over the Palos Verdes Golf Club in California, the same score as UNLV’s Mackenzie Raim and Florida’s Taylor Tomlinson.

The win for Maguire was her fifth career victory over three years at Duke and her highest finish of the 2016-17 campaign.

Meanwhile North Carolina State University women's golf team, which includes India Clyburn from Cleethorpes, boasted a final round score of three-under par 285 on Tuesday to win the Lady Puerto Rico Classic team title in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico, with a 54-hole total of 877 (+13).

Held at the Rio Mar CC this marks the first team win of the season for the Wolfpack, as three players shot under par to lead the program to the sixth-best 18-hole score recorded in program history.
