Amanda Linner, the Swede who won the French Under-21 girls championship in Paris in April, scored another notable victory today (Thursday).

Amanda Linner, the Swede who won the French Under-21 girls championship in Paris in April, scored another notable victory today (Thursday).

She beat Annabell Fuller (Roehampton) at the third extra hole of a sudden death play-off in the prestigious Annika Invitational Europe 54-hole tournament at Halmstad Golf Club, Sweden.

They had tied on three-under 213, Amanda with three scores of 71, Annabell with rounds of 75, 69 and 69.

Fuller's final round had seven birdies, including the 18th to get her into a play-off. 

In a Swedish-dominated finish, Julia Engstrom, who last year, at the age of 15, became the youngest ever winner of the British women's open amateur title at Dundonald Links, tied for third place on 214 with compatriot Frida Kinhult (71-73-70).Engstrom had rounds of 75, 71 and 68.

Amanda Linner leads the qualifying points table for selection to the European Junior Solheim Cup team.
