Paultons Golf Centre has appointed former semi-professional footballer Rebecca Cork as its new Assistant General Manager.
The 25-year-old Southampton resident joins Paultons from Stoneham Golf Club where she started her career in the golf industry after suffering an ACL injury while playing for Elite Talavera in Spain.
“Working in the golf industry is fantastic,” comments Rebecca. “People are really welcoming, it is a great environment to be in. I am passionate about providing as many opportunities as possible for people to try the sport in a friendly relaxed space. With the driving range and academy course, Paultons is ideal, and I am excited to have the freedom to try new things here."
One of the events that Rebecca has introduced is a monthly women-only Balls & Bubbles event on the Top Tracer Driving Range. On the first night, more than 30 women attended, including staff from Paultons and sister site Bramshaw Golf Club.
Bramshaw General Manager, Molly Pavey, commented:
“Rebecca has an infectious personality and her dedication to creating safe spaces for people to come and try golf for the first time, without any judgement, is really inspiring. The Balls & Bubbles night was the perfect combination of instruction, fun and fizz. I can’t wait to see how this night develops.”
Rebecca is used to leading the charge for women’s sport. Whilst studying for her Sports Marketing degree at Solent University, she captained Solent Women’s Football team to the university’s only footballing British University and Colleges Sport (BUCS) National Final.
And, for girls, Paultons is hosting Girls Golf Rocks summer camps this May half-term.
