Train Your Kings

Your glute muscles are the rulers when it comes to generating strength in your golf swing. Here, Katie Dawkins shows us some exercises that will improve your game without stepping foot on the range.

Weak glutes, the muscles that make up your buttocks, mean that you’re likely to extend out of your impact position before you actually get to the ball, leaving you wide open to mishits. Next in line to the throne is your core, that will help you to get through the ball, and like the glutes, stabilise your swing.

The joy of working on strengthening your butt and your core is that you’ll be improving your game without even stepping foot on the driving range, not to mention feeling firmer!

Take some time out of your day to try these exercises to generate more power in your golf swing...

Working these exercises into your daily schedule may seem an effort, but it’s easy to find some floor space, put on a few tunes and give yourself six minutes. Do it every day and you’ll quickly reap the benefits and see your golf game improve.
