Sometimes going to the range and hitting a bucket of balls isn't always the most efficient or fun way to improve your game. Katie Dawkins suggests ways which you can make your practice more effective.

SENSIBLE PRACTICE
Just because the field is 300 yards long, it doesn’t mean that you only have to focus on your long game. There is plenty of short game sharpening activities that you can do to finish off that bucket of balls. For examples click here.

BUDDY UP

If you go to the range with friends, introduce a competitive edge. Many of us play better when under the pressure of other golfer’s good shots, so take advantage of the situation. If you are of a similar standard you will discover that driving range match play can be fun. If your buddy is more experienced than you this may lift your game, so don’t be scared of throwing down the gauntlet.

LUCKY NUMBER 4

Take 4 balls and pick different targets for each one. The winner of the point from the closest ball chooses the next target. Make it challenging by using a variety of weapons! Bare mats will challenge you even further, but think how good you’ll become from tough spots on the course.
