Welcome to the beta version of the new Women & Golf website. Our web monkeys are still hard at work and welcome your feedback.
Ballater was founded in 1892, originally as a nine hole course. The land was owned by the Laird of Invercauld.
In 1905, the course was expanded to 18 holes. This medium length course (6,059 yards from the medal tees, 5,244 yards for the ladies) is situated in one of the most beautiful parts of Royal Deeside.
The course can best be described as heathland. Although farther away from the river, there are some distinct parkland characteristics. A relatively flat, easy walking course, there are holes to test all abilities of golfer. After your round a warm welcome awaits in our newly refurbished clubhouse.
A well stocked pro shop including women's. Nicely designed clubhouse overlooking the course. The course was a good test of golf with some rather long par 4s off the ladies tees. Overall in good condition.

An awesome course and my favourite one in Royal Deeside Golf Week. Flat and quite forgiving. Every hole is surrounded by beautiful nature scenery. Well worth playing. Lovely clubhouse and very helpful people in the proshop.

Loved playing this course, the setting is scenic.
The course was beautiful, nice fairways , fast greens, and the rough was not too extreme.
Nice food in the clubhouse, and all the staff were very friendly.

Absolutely loved this peach of a course set in the midst of Aberdeenshire’s rolling countryside. Lovely wide open fairways but with lots of variance in each hole. Just loved it and wished I could have played it twice it was so nice!
