Lady members at Shrewsbury Golf Club swapped the fairway for the runway to raise money for the Princess Royal Hospital’s neo-natal unit in Telford. Nine glamorous ladies raised £340 in just one hour!

A packed marquee saw over a hundred ladies gather from across Shropshire to watch the fashion show modelling the spring and summer collection from Glenmuir, Abacus, Nike, Green Lamb, Footjoy and Daily Sports in support of the local hospital’s neo-natal unit.

As the lights went up, nine lady members from Shrewsbury Golf Club got the show underway, strutting down the catwalk to the sounds of Bruno Mars’ Uptown Funk while sporting designs from Abacus, Nike and Glenmuir.

Tina Robinson, Lady Captain, said: “I’d like to thank everyone who has made this fashion show a tremendous success, from the ladies who took to the catwalk to the golf clothing companies that attended and the people who came to watch and support. The Hospital’s neonatal unit work hard to save babies lives and the money raised at this event will help them continue their invaluable work.”

Representatives from Nike, Glenmuir and Abacus were on hand to discuss the colour stories of the outfits being modelled.

Gill Ferguson modelled Glenmuir’s three colour stories from the Spring Summer 2015 collection: Spearmint ocean drive, coral pure shores and lime and ascot blue tropical sorbet. Her ‘Flossie’ polyester sleeveless polo shirt and ‘Kendal’ capri trousers were set off with ‘Ludivine’ pullover in lambs wool for those cooler days on the course or in town.

Nike’s spring summer collection features dry fit fabric in sunset glow and swoosh mesh polos in vibrant shock colours. On show were their lunar shoes with lightweight soft foam underfoot helping the models glide down the runway.

Abacus bought four colour stories to the show in their spring summer collection. A red, navy, orange and white combination is complemented by a navy, sand, sky blue and white combination. Classic black and white is set off with Begonia white and black. Their sparkling fun collection is inspired by stars that feature strongly on polos and jackets.
