Jane reviews the Duca del Cosma Belize Golf Shoe
Ahead of what we hope will be a more warmer summer, we were sent a pair of the new Duca del Cosma Belize golf shoes to test out.
I was keen to try the Belize as I have a hip problem and like the fact there are no laces.

In comparison to some of the more glitzy shoes in the 2024 collection, this shoe could be seen as a little boring. But I think there are a number of golfers, me included, who like the traditional white golf shoe. The Belize is a good-looking shoe that will serve you well on the course and means you can wear any outfit.
The shoe is only available in classic white in sizes 3 to 9.
RRP £189.00.
The Duca del Cosma website has a very handy size guide which shows you how to measure your foot length and also gives you comparisons to other major golf shoe brands.

I usually wear a UK size 7.5 golf shoe but after looking at the above comparison chart, I chose an 8 UK/ EU 42 and the fit was snug. Perhaps as they are a medium fit and my foot is slightly wider.
Testing on the course

The Belize shoes have only had one outing so far. Over the coming months with more chances to get on the golf course they will get more outings. I've also started wearing them casually to break them in.
Look
I love the look of the shoes. Many Duca del Cosma golf shoes are striking and you certainly make a statement when you walk out onto the course in them. However, with these shoes you have a classic pair of timeless shoes. That can be worn on or off the course - casual or smart, they will serve a multitude of occasions.
Stability
The shoes are spikeless with dimples on the sole.
The stability was extremely good and the touch-straps strong so it wasn't as though my feet moved around. Which meant that I experienced no problems with traction whilst swinging the club or walking the course. I was impressed with how secure I felt.
I worn thin golf socks as there was no need to have thicker socks.
Waterproofing
I haven't worn these in the rain yet. [Really, who wants to wear their new shoes in the rain?] But I am assured they are waterproof. And as they are extremely well made, with Italian nappa leather, I have no reason to doubt the assertion.
Comfort

Initially, they are not the most comfortable shoe. But, I know having had a pair of Serena, once you've worn them in they are extremely comfortable.
They come in a medium width so if you have a wide foot or square toes this might not be the right shoe for you.
What Duca del Cosma say...
Waterproof, premium quality Italian Nappa leather, spikeless & lightweight.
Pairing classic brogue design with a contemporary touch-strap detail, this waterproof women's golf show us crafted from luxurious Italian Nappa leather, with excellent grip on and off the course.
Verdict
These shoes are a classic. More importantly, they work extremely well for those who struggle to bend down to tie their shoelaces. It's more or less impossible to find this type of golf shoe.
I can see the price point being quite a sticking point, but for the investment, you are getting a high quality and high performing golf shoe which I believe you would get many years of wear from. On and off the course.

Final Score
You get what you pay for, so even though these Duca del Cosma Belize golf shoes are at the higher price point in this sector, they are of high quality and will provide more than a seasons worth of use.
