Women & Golf Review: Yonex EZone Elite 2 Driver

Yonex’s Ezone Elite 2 Driver has a vertical polish design which improves shot direction and minimising side spin, helping you drive straighter. Here is what Carly Frost thought when she put it through its paces.

THEY SAY

Traditionally, a clubface is polished horizontally, but the EZONE ELITE 2 has adopted a vertical polish, a design that eliminates the need for grooves on the face, improving shot direction and minimising side spin, helping your drives fly straighter. Octaforce Neo technology in the crown provides a reduction in weight for a lower and deeper centre of gravity, ensuring a higher, distance-enhancing trajectory. The same technology in the clubface provides a 10% larger sweet spot for maximum repulsion and forgiveness.

I SAY

This is a really unique driver, the first thing that caught my attention is the lack of grooves on the clubface. It makes the hitting area look really expansive and difficult to miss. I also found it very forgiving, my mishits were nowhere near as destructive. The sound was powerful and the feel very solid. With its striking plum-coloured clubhead that dazzles in the light, it will definitely stand out on the first tee.
