THEY SAY

The Vertical Groove driver is the first radical change to the face of the golf club in decades - and yet it couldn’t be simpler. Every golf club today uses horizontal grooves. Their patented VGT Technology starts by rotating those grooves 90 degrees. The key benefit is tighter shot dispersion and if your shots are straighter it goes hand-in-hand that you are going to hit it longer too.

I SAY

When a radically new concept in club design is unveiled it’s easy to question whether it’s just a gimmick. When you hit the VG driver you instantly realise it is not. This is a seriously powerful club, it makes an awesome impact sound and has a lovely deep clubhead shape that makes it look impossible to miss. My off-centre strikes definitely flew better. Everything about the VG driver is top-notch- from the fancy box it arrives in, to the quality components it’s made from. It’s not traditional in looks but I love the vivid green alignment accents on the crown. VG might be a new brand but they score top marks in the user experience department from me.
