In this review Carly Frost tries out the PING G Le irons to see how they really perform when put to the test, and whether they really are forgiving as the brand claim.
Our G Le set blends lightweight, forgiving irons with easy-to-hit hybrids to increase performance across the set. Lightweight components, faster faces, and a lower overall club mass will help you to generate greater distance with improved accuracy. COR-Eye Technology acts like a springboard and increases flexing in the face. The simultaneous gains in ball speed and shot height help the ball carry farther.
The G Le are a really beautifully-designed set of irons. The eye-catching navy/mint colour combination is spot-on. They have a lovely balanced feel and are lightweight to help you generate a lot more clubhead speed (and distance). The large, forgiving clubheads are very much PING’s trademark and can’t fail to fill you with confidence at address that they are easy to use. I particularly love the brushed matt finish as it doesn’t gleam in bright light. It’s not surprising that PING has kept this great all-round set of clubs in their offering for another year.
Price: £107 per iron (5-SW)
