A new concept in children's clubs, Golfphinforkids feature aerospace engineering and design, they're lighter and more forgiving than traditional junior clubs, making it easier to hit the ball - and, crucially, get it airborne!

The brainchild of Scotland-based businessman Calum McPherson and developed in partnership with PGA professionals and biomechanics experts at Strathclyde University, Golphinforkids clubs are unlike any other.

Said Calum: "Our entire ethos and principles are focused on providing young kids with an enjoyable, fun filled and confidence building experience. Golphinforkids clubs are designed specifically to help kids hinge and rotate their arms and wrists properly without losing balance. This helps them get in to the right position at the top, making it much easier to make a good connection with the ball. Kids physically find that extremely difficult to do with traditional, steel-headed, heavy clubs. The club swings the kid rather than the kid swinging and controlling the club."

What makes Golfphin Clubs Different?

30% lighter than traditional junior clubs

So they're easier to swing and help maintain balance. They encourage kids to instinctively hinge and rotate their wrists and arms on the backswing. Normal junior and kids clubs are too heavy, causing sway and a loss of control. This results in the club swinging the kid, rather than the kid swinging the club.

35% larger sweet spot

Traditional junior clubs have smaller clubheads than adult clubs, making it more challenging for kids to strike the ball. Golphinforkids' oversized club heads increase the probability of connecting with the ball

Radial profile of sole

Traditional kids clubs have a fairly square leading edge. Golphinforkids clubs have a radial sole reducing the 'digging in' resistance at impact to the turf or mat. Again, this increases the chances of striking the ball.

Oversized Grooves

These generate more spin on the ball, increasing its trajectory significantly and therefore the ball gets airborne quicker and flies higher than when using traditional kids clubs. Some 70% of the weight distribution of the club head geometry is below the centreline. Similar in principle to rescue clubs, this significantly helps the ball get airborne.

Golphinforkids clubs are grouped in age and height brackets 3-5 years (40-46"), 6-7 years (46-50"), 8-9 (50-54”) and 10-11 years (54"-58").

The branding has a strong affiliation with dolphins to present a fun, friendly image to children and clubs are also designed in pink and blue colour schemes to make them popular for either boys or girls.

Clubs are available individually and sets include a driver, 7 iron, putter and 'swedger' - a super-forgiving wedge - along with a bag and Dolphin driver headcover.

Last year, Golphinforkids was chosen by the R&A to take part in its SwingZone at the 2014 Open Championship at Hoylake and it will follow suit at St Andrews this July.

Golphinforkids has been chosen by both France’s Federation of Golf and Ireland’s Confederation of Golf to further enhance their kids’ golf initiatives.
