Callaway has announced its new line of XR 16 drivers and fairway woods. Engineered with the help from specialists from Boeing to create their fastest clubs to date.
For the XR 16 Driver, Callaway R&D worked with aerodynamics experts at Boeing to redefine what is possible with clubhead speed and aerodynamics in a golf club. Callaway engineered its most forgiving head shape ever, and the specialists at Boeing made it fast with a re-engineered Speed Step.
In addition to delivering their most forgiving shape, a high speed head, and low drag in the crown, the XR 16 Driver also features a next generation R*MOTO Face that is lighter and up to 19 percent thinner. The XR 16 Driver is available in 9°, 10.5° and 13.5° HT lofts. The XR Pro 16 Driver will be available in 9° and 10.5° lofts.
The XR 16 Fairway Wood builds on the category-defining Face Cup Technology and features a design that is bigger, hotter, and more forgiving with their lightest crown for even more ball speed and distance. The XR 16 Fairway Wood will be available in a 3+, 3, 4, 5, 7, 9 and 11 Wood. The XR Pro 16 Fairway Wood will be available in 14°, 16° and 18° lofts.
XR 16 Driver
The XR 16 Driver is engineered with Callaway's most forgiving shape to date. Working alongside Boeing to redefine what’s possible with ball speed and aerodynamics the XR16 utilises a re-engineered Speed Step Crown, for ultimate speed.
This new driver has a high speed head and lower drag in the crown to add ball speed. It’s extremely forgiving from the larger shape for more MOI, a stretched out crown with a bigger footprint, and a Center of Gravity that’s lower and deeper.
For more ball speed all across the face, Callaway have added our next generation R*MOTO face that’s lighter and up to 19% thinner. And golfers can choose from a wide selection of no-upcharge shaft options to fit your swing speed. XR 16 is built to deliver the ultimate in ball speed.

XR 16 Fairway Wood
The XR 16 Fairway Wood combines Callaway's highest MOI, highest COR, and a low Center of Gravity in a fairway wood. With a larger footprint, it’s a head shape that gives you the confidence and the technology to hit it long and straight. Additionally the wood utilises an improved category-defining face cup for high ball speed all across the face, added great turf interaction, and put in extra speed from an aerodynamic head shape.
