Women & Golf have teamed up with Lyle & Scott, very much an iconic menswear brand, that celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2024.

They were founded in humble circumstances by William Lyle & Walter Scott in Hawick, Scotland, in 1874, and became masters of high quality knitted underwear! Thereafter, they introduced timeless polos, knitwear, and outerwear, all crafted with heritage excellence.

The now iconic Lyle & Scott logo was launched in the 1960s to coincide with their first foray into golfwear. The Golden Eagle pays homage to the world-famous Scottish golf club, Gleneagles. And, by the 1970s, their golf wear collection became the brand for golfers. Most memorably, Jack Nicklaus was wearing Lyle & Scott when he won his third Open Championship in 1978.

The golf range was the go-to brand for legendary golfers, including Arnold Palmer and Gary Player. The Golden Eagle was also beloved by British comedy legend Ronnie Corbett, who you may remember wore the Lyle & Scott patterned golfing jumpers during his armchair monologue sketches on The Two Ronnies.
